I purchased this bike from first owner in May with 136xxx miles. This is my fourth GS and this model is my dream bike. I bought this to replace a 2002 R1150GS that was used mostly two-up and planned to use this bike in the same manner. However, Missus Sweet has two complaints: 1) rear section of GSA is too cramped, and 2) the twin 45litre panniers don't allow her to move her feet comfortably onto the balls of her feet.

So, what can a fella do? Rip the band-aid off, sell, replace with better two-up bike, and carry on!

The GOOD:

Single spark, non-Servo GSA.

This bike was owned by a BMWMOA member who is well-known and takes extremely good care of all the bikes in his collection. This bike is no exception. Perfectly maintained, a stack of service records from day one, and kept immaculately clean to boot! I took possession of the GSA and it was cleaner than the bikes on the local dealership floor - no kidding at all. Paint is in excellent condition. Everything works exactly as it should.

Two ignition keys as delivered new. Eight matching luggage keys (TT gives you two keys for every lock). They are all four the same lock/key combo).

Sargent seat - custom build with +.5", dark grey with blue trim, rider section extended 1". I absolutely LOVE this seat. At 5'7", 32" inseam, this arrangement places me in the perfect rider's triangle and lets my aging knees relax. For reference, I have run three Sargents, std. height, but in upper position - this seat achieves same effect.

Cee Bailey 19.5" tinted windscreen (unobtanium). My fourth Cee Bailey and man I wish these were still made. At this height, and with my build, I can very comfortably look right over the top and I can ride with my shield full up, no buffeting, no hassles.

Touratech narrow pannier racks (unobtanium) with shorty exhaust pipe to run symmetrical 45 litre panniers. This is a great set up as it gives maximum carrying capacity. Shorty exhaust is just barely louder than stock can: measured 84 dB at 6000 RPM several feet behind exhaust. Stock can included.

Metal Mule signal stalks to allow above narrow rack set.

Touratech 45L panniers in beautiful black interior and exterior with locks - less than 500 miles on this set and I bought them BRAND NEW - with Touratech corner reinforcement (a great addition to your panniers in case of tip over).

Touratech passenger footage relocation kit - forward and down.

Touratech oversized mudguard (unobtanium) with custom milled license plate holder and black reflective tape. This is a very effective rain/mud guard and truly enhances conspicuity. *OEM possum scraper long gone (junk!). This assembly is easily removed and OEM plate mount is right there underneath it.

Signal Minder installed. Set to run all four turn signals as additional running lights for conspicuity. Easily removed if not desired.

Touratech hand guard extensions.

RT-P speedo drive installed to correct notoriously erroneous stock speedo readings. My GPS verifies speedo at Perfect to 1 or 2 MPH off with current tires at varying speeds up to and including . . . very fast. OEM drive tossed in trash bin.

HES (Hall sensor) is current type - nice!

Shocks, front and rear, are OEM with 12,000 miles on them. PO ran OEMs to almost 12,000 mile service and then replaced them with TT shocks. He replaced the OEMs right before I took delivery. Very nice!

2002 BMW tank bag with paint saver panel underneath. Excellent bag, shows some UV fade.

Dunlop TrailMax Mission tires. Have to check installation mileage, but they have many miles left in them.

PC680 Battery. Strong and always on trickle when not in use by PO and myself.

Quick disconnect fuel lines.

GPS and Mount are NOT included. Go Cruise throttle lock NOT included (left in place as I plan to keep riding bike solo).

The BAD:

One tip over in driveway at NO speed by PO. Some light scratches on right side of engine guard, but no other damage. See pic below.

Factory grips are wrapped in tennis racket tape by PO. Doesn't bother me a bit and the OEM heated elements will roast you on high setting even through that one layer. Funny thing is, my last GS had the same mod. Replacing these grips is not a huge deal, but you need an exact-O knife and patience.

SUMMARY: If you want easy to maintain (avoid the dealership!), smooth, reliable, and looks to boot, I got a fine machine here. I welcome test rides with cash in hand. I will assist in any way reasonable to organize shipping at your cost and I encourage fly-n-ride (Douglas Internat'l Airport is close, Concord Regional is also close).
