Brown side stand

Brand new Brown Side stand / kick stand from Max BMW. Didn't end up using on an R100/7 resto. This is the BRSS version. See Max's website for details.

BROWN SIDE STAND
The OEM sidestands on early BMWs aren't the best design. They are prone to retracting unexpectedly, bending over time, or just breaking all together and leaving your bike resting on its valve cover. The Brown Sidestand, a valuable upgrade, is strong, sturdy, and easier to use. Remove one of life's uncertainties by using a side stand that actually works! Easy to install and cosmetically appropriate! NOTE: ONLY fits model years 1970-1984 dual shock Airheads. BRSS65 is specifically made for the 1979-1984 R65LS and R65.

The front hole on the BRSS attaches to the left exhaust hanger, using the supplied special shoulder nut and bolt. The special shoulder nut and bolt come with every new BRSS & BRSS65 (they are not part of the bike). You have to slide the exhaust hanger forward, then attach the hanger to the front hole of the BRSS. The rear hole on the BRSS is the “rear engine mount bolt” hole. You completely abandon the factory sidestand and its mount. See attached PDF for additional installation instructions.
