Description
This bike includes a beautiful toaster tank with original paint and chrome side covers, AND also includes the larger kneepad tank and color matched period fairing. (Bike currently is in touring config with fairing.) Bike can be fitted out with included short bars, solo seat, and trimmed down fenders for a cafe look. AND it also includes higher USA bars, full size stock fenders, a very nice restored full seat with Reynolds backrest, GIVI topcase and Krauser panniers for touring or two-up cruising.

When I got the bike in 1987 it showed 14,000 miles. I rode the bike about 50,000 miles over the years, until it needed a full speedo overhaul a few years ago, at which point I told the speedo tech to just zero it out and I'd start over. Since then I've put 17,700 on it. So ... adds up to about 82,000.

I have owned this bike since 1987 and I have extensively maintained, repaired and mildly upgraded it as needed to keep it stone-cold reliable and trouble-free. Virtually every system and part on the bike (except for core engine components, all of which are in excellent original condition) has been renewed or updated throughout the years, just about all of it by me. It has only been to a dealer shop once that I can remember. Parts and assemblies have been sent off for repair occasionally, but I did all the other work. It's too much to list here, but if you are interested I will send you a full maintenance history.

The fairing is actually very cool and interesting. I got it on eBay several years ago, having ridden the bike for over 3 decades is stock form with no fairing. I was planning a trip out west and my thinking was a fairing would help smooth out the airflow and help the bike run a little easier at highway speeds. Anyway, the fairing is quite old, probably from the 60's, it came white with no windscreen. It mounts very simply with four bolts, and can be removed literally in 3 minutes or less. It is super light and doesn't affect handling at all. I have not been able to find any others like it or a manufacturer. My friends have remarked on its uncanny "boob-like" shape, but I think it's very attractive and period correct. In any event, it is included in the sale, and it can be removed in a snap if you prefer a naked bike. The beautiful /5 headlight nacelle is under there in great condition.

The bike is sitting in my garage in Madison, Indiana, a bit storage dusty and in need of a rear tire soon. When spring comes I will clean it up, put on the tire, price it at $6,500, and list it on Hemmings, etc. But I thought I'd put it up as a pre-sale opportunity for my fellow MOA members. Sale includes a bunch of spare parts and specialty tools for maintaining the bike.

I encourage you to call me for more details, or come to Madison and take a look. Cosmetics are nice, but not perfect. This is a bike that is ready for any distance of trouble-free touring.
