Description
1983 BMW R100T CUSTOM
The bike was born as an `83 R100T, which provided the perfect foundation for this build. A custom R107 DV, ("107" designation is for the 1070cc long rod Seibenrock Big Bore kit and "DV" designation for the Don Vesco RABID TRANSIT fairing).
The engine was totally dismantled and the main bearing and crank were miked to confirm tolerances. Reassembly of the engine bottom end included crank end play confirmed, installation of the Seibenrock asymmetrical cam with a new timing chain sprocket, new crank sprocket and nose bearing, lightened cam followers, lightened valve spring retainers, and lightened rocker adjusters. The Seibenrock kit included nikasil cylinders, pistons, rings, H-beam rods, head gaskets, main bearings and a gasket kit. A new EME starter was used. All gaskets and O-rings were replaced along with the timing chain and guides. A new clutch assembly including a HD oil resistant clutch plate was used. The transmission was rebuilt and the cir-clip installed.
Carburation is handled with a pair of Bings, (94/40/107 and 108). The exhaust is a 38mm SS Staintune set.
Chassis improvements include: rebuilt calipers, new brake pads & pins, new fork seals, new fork tubes & Race Tech fork springs, a powder coated billet top tree, new bearings at the front & rear wheels, steering head, and swing arm, new 13mm master cylinder, new SS front brake line, new handlebar switches, new Michelin "Pilot" tires, new OHLIN rear shock, new Westco battery, and a new Corbin "Gunfighter" Seat. I installed a pair of OSMO alloy rear sets. All the gauges work as they should. The speedometer was rebuilt and set to “0”.
The frame, sub-frame, swing arm, front end lowers, disk brake rotor carriers, calipers, bar risers, alloy top tree, center & Brown side stands, engine cases, have all been powder coated a satin black coating. The BMW snowflake wheels and pannier racks are powder coated a semi-gloss gray.
I placed the bike into service in the Spring of 2020 and have riden 3400 miles since. (Mileage is low because I have several registered Airheads to ride).
The bike has a clean title in my name. I'm selling because I no longer want 5 registered Airheads, thinning the herd.
$13,500.
