1985 K100 For Sale

Low mileage (27,018 miles), well-maintained original K100 with factory-original windshield. Manufactured 08/1984 in Germany; assembled new from the crate in 1985 by a member of our local BMW rider's club. I purchased locally in 2016 at 24,599 miles. Alternator rebuilt with new bearings/brushes; new rear rotor and front/rear pads; final drive seals replaced; new Lucas HD final drive/trans gear oil; new Gates multi-fuel fuel lines with fuel-injected rated clamps installed. New Michelin Pilot Active tires fitted at 24,670. Transmission pulled, splines serviced and valves adjusted at 24,882. New battery 05/2020, always maintained with Battery Minder. Coolant and fuel systems serviced; BMW antifreeze, quality oil and filters always used; brake fluids flushed/changed every two years. Clock and gear indicators work. Many new upgrades including heated grips, L.E.D. instrument panel light kit, ceramic socket and L.E.D. headlamp, flex stainless steel rear brake line, and Whelen L.E.D. running/brake light. Also included: OEM bags with new liners, original owner's book and complete tool kit, Clymer shop manual, and more. Full service and upgrades record since purchase available on request. Yes, this is "old school" riding with no ABS or traction control, but no hefty service fees to go along with those items either! The claim to fame for these old K-bikes is they're famous, if properly maintained, for going into the hundreds-of-thousands of miles with very few problems (that's why there are 6 digits on the odometer!). This one runs like a top and has many, many more miles to go. Unfortunately, at almost 75 years of age, I'm afraid the same can't be said of me. I've been riding since 16 years old and have owned and ridden bikes of all makes and vintages; this one is really a sweet machine, but I'm afraid it's time to hang up my Shoei and riding gear.
